Introductory sewing class included!

Beginners are welcome to make your very own Cheongsam! It's outfitted with multiple options- so you can choose the type of sleeve, skirt/ pants combination that you want to sew up and make it your very own.

Variations include:

  • Sleeve: Normal, Puff, Flutter 
  • Skirt: Straight, Tulip, Flare or Pants

What You Will Learn

  • How to setup and operate domestic machines and use the tools necessary for sewing
  • Assembly and construction of cheongsam
  • Working with bias tape for collar & neckline to create contrast
  • Installing invisible zipper closure
  • Inserting set-in sleeves and finishing seams

Important note

  • This class is suitable for beginners with little or no experience.
  • Body measurements will be taken by the trainer on your first lesson and has to be submitted at least 7 DAYS BEFORE YOUR SECOND SESSION for draft preparation, otherwise your second session will have to be postponed.
  • Please wear slim fitted clothing for accurate measurement taking. Avoid sports bras or compressive garments.
  • Sewing machines and tools are provided during class. Fabrics and zippers are not included.
  • For ages 18 & above.

Things to Bring for Your Second Session

  • 2.5 metres - 3 metres of Non-Stretch Cotton or Linen (min. 60" width fabric for flared skirt)
  • 24 inch of Concealed/Invisible Zipper
  • 2 - 3pcs of Chinese Frog Buttons
  • 1.5 metres of Single-Fold Cotton Bias Tape (12mm)
  • 1 pair of Hook & Eye

Classes start on time, please arrive 5 minutes earlier if possible.
