    What You Will Learn

    SESSION 1: ALTERATIONS

    1. Alteration techniques:

    • Tapering for a tighter fit
    • Extending length

    2. Finishing techniques for raw edges:

    • Edging using a sewing machine
    • French Seams
    • Double-fold Hem

    3. Tailored Button Replacement

    SESSION 2: UPCYCLING & MENDING

    1. Adding Features to your Garment:

    • Ruffles / Gathers
    • Sewing Buttonhole
    • Straps
    • Elastic Waistband / Hems

    2. Hand Sewing Techniques:

    • Slip Stitch
    • Ladder Stitch

    3. Patching Techniques:

    • Interfacing
    • Iron-on Applique


    SESSION 3: ZIPPER TECHNIQUES

    • Invisible or Concealed zipper 
    • Railroad/Centered Zipper
    • Lapped Seam Zipper
    • Exposed zipper

    SESSION 4: POCKETS

    • Side-seam Pockets
    • Slant Hip Pocket
    • Patch Pocket with Flap
    • Single Welt Pocket


    SESSION 5: CONSULTATION

    Bring in your garments and let us guide you step-by-step to do your alterations on the spot. You will learn the skills with guidance from our instructor. *garments like gowns, stretchy activewear, lined jackets, leather, or satin/ chiffon items will not be covered for this session

    Important note

    • Sewing machine and tools are included.
    • You're not required to bring anything for the class.
    • This class does not cover how to operate sewing machines. You may register our Starter Bundle class to learn how to operate them.
