The English Tailoress

Charlotte Appleby was trained in Handcraft tailoring at London College of Fashion where she learnt bespoke tailoring (Savile Row method) for men and women. She developed her technical skills by working in the fashion and costume industry on productions for theatre, opera, film and fashion designers showcasing at LFW and Paris Couture Week. Using fine embellishments such as seed beads and bugle beads completely transforms garments, making it truly unique and memorable. She adopted this skill 8 years ago by attending a tambour beading workshop ran by a french designer based in London. Charlotte applies it to a lot of her bespoke bridal wear and evening dresses. She's also inspired by the arts, theatre, textiles and the natural world. Now you can learn this fine couture beading skill at Fashion Makerspace too!
