This class does not cover how to use the sewing machine. To learn how to use the sewing machine, click here for our Starter Bundle Class. All supplies included in cost of class.

Alter and modify your existing garments with multiple techniques taught in just 2 classes! Create a variety of hems & leave confident with your samples to remind yourself of these techniques.  

What you will learn:

ALTERATIONS 101

1. Brief introduction on how to use the Sewing Machine
 
2. Alteration techniques:

  • Tapering for a tighter fit
  • Extending length

3. Finishing techniques for raw edges:

  • Edging using Bias Tape
  • French Seams
  • Double-fold Hem

4. Tailored Button Replacement

 

ALTERATIONS 102 & UPCYCLING

1. Adding Features to your Garment:

  • Sewing Buttonhole
  • Straps
  • Gathers
  • Elastic Cuffs/ Hems

2. Hand Sewing Techniques:

  • Slip Stitch
  • Ladder Stitch
  • Sashiko

3. Patching Techniques:

  • Interfacing
  • Iron-on Applique


    Classes start on time, please arrive 5 minutes earlier if possible.
